Healthy Living Children's/Youth Program
Physical activity is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise and physical activity can prevent/reduce obesity and diabetes. Other benefits include: more energy, good cardiovascular system, weight management, higher self-esteem, stronger muscles and bones, healthy blood pressure, and even improved team building skills and healthier relationships.
Noojmowin Teg’s Healthy Living Children's/Youth Program strives to provide fun recreational programs for the community for free, so that you, your family, and friends can enjoy physical activity. Traditional activities, such as Hoop Dancing, are also incorporated into recreational programming. The Recreation Specialist, through workshops, seminars, and information sessions, will also ensure that participants walk away with knowledge on other aspects of good health, including nutrition, mental health, and traditional teachings.
