Noojmowin Teg Health Centre is proud to present a new look and a new website. 

The content is intended to be reflective of our mission and mandate, expanded services to indigenous people living both in the Manitoulin Island and Espanola area, and of being an Anishinabek primary health care service.

We trust you will find the site to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate. New features include accessibility options for visually impaired visitors (at the bottom of your screen), improved website menu, and greater use of culturally relevant graphics and media.

Our website is one of the many media tools we will be using to more effectively communicate with community members (the clients we serve), our partners and potentially new staff.  You are invited to return to our site often to see new developments, updates and current information.

Invitation for Tender Submissions: Recruitment Firms - Senior Administration Position

Noojmowin Teg Health Centre is releasing an invitation to tender on October 15, 2019 to companies with extended and relevant experience in the successful recruitment of senior administrators.

The Centre through work with the successful tender applicant will be hiring for the role of Executive Director, to start no later than May 1, 2020.

Noojmowin Teg Health Centre is an indigenous primary health care health organization located on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. The Centre is seeking to hire a firm with culturally relevant experience in working with indigenous/First Nation organizations in a recruitment capacity. The full and detailed tender can be obtained electronically through contacting: Melissa Biedermann, Executive Assistant, at 705-368-2182 x260, or Melissa.biedermann@noojmowin-teg.ca. More information regarding the organization can be found at: www.noojmowin-teg.ca.

Aging at Home Van Support Driver Casual/On-Call

Noojmowin Teg Health Centre seeks the services of an Aging at Home Van Support Driver. The Van Support Driver will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to improve transportation services for individuals 55 years and older for the Manitoulin Island District. This initiative is designed to support healthy aging and independent living for individuals 55 years of age and older. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with various external organizations, establishing linkages with community programs and services Island-wide to enhance access to transportation services for medical care and social programming.


Qualifications:
1. Ability to travel
2. Ability to work flexible hours from Monday to Friday
3. Familiarity with local health and social services within the Manitoulin Island District
4. Must possess CPR/First Aid Certificate
5. Must possess a valid class G Driver’s License
6. Must provide a Drivers Abstract
7. Must provide proof of personal automobile insurance
8. Must provide a “letter of experience” from your insurer
9. Criminal Record’s Check is essential
10. Anishnaabemowin, as well as knowledge of Anishinabe culture and traditions, is an asset

Submit a covering letter, resume, three (3) work related letters of reference, a current criminal records check and vulnerable sector, a copy of valid driver’s license, driver’s abstract, letter of experience and proof of personal automobile insurance..
