Child Nutrition Program
The Child Nutrition Program focuses on the promotion of positive eating habits as well as education on nutrition through hands on workshops, presentations, and demonstrations provided at day care centres, elementary schools, health centres as well as in the communities.
The Child Nutrition program also collects and uses more traditional and sustainable food sources to be used in programming. In collaboration with the Manitoulin Community Fresh Food Initiative (MCFFI) as well as the newly developed Indigenous Food Sovereignty Program, the Child Nutrition will bring the flavours and knowledge of previous generations to the forefront, as well as developing new and exciting ways to use the local ingredients available in and around the Manitoulin Island area.
