Psychological Services

Psychological services provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health problems. Psychologists use specialized knowledge of human behavior, emotion, personality and thought processes to make diagnoses.

The therapeutic collaborations between professionals and people experiencing mental health issues can assist people in making healthy changes in their emotional coping and behavior patterns.

Psychological Service providers treat people of all ages, from young children to older adults. Many people receive services as individuals, but couples and families can also receive services together.

Many people faced with life stresses may need professional help with their problems. Sometimes it is difficult for a person to recognize when help is needed. Listed below are reasons why people may seek psychological services:

  • Abuse/violence
  • Addictions
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Stress/Anxiety
  • Parent-child conflicts
  • Learning disability
  • Adjustment to illness/disability
  • Memory/cognitive problems
  • Hyperactivity
